Why would I do this?

• To send as an email attachment to tech support to show them what’s happening on your screen.
• To create a step by step guide for someone using images
• To capture something you see on the web to save for later (although you can simply RIGHT CLICK over any image on the web and make a copy as long as it isn’t copyright protected)

1.    Make the screenshot of what you need by pressing the PrntScrn key on your keyboard.

tip: If you hold down the ALT key when you hit PrntScrn, you’ll only capture the active window and not the whole screen that you then have to crop out the useless portions.

2.    Open MS Paint and hit CTRL V (CTRL V = paste)
3.    If you did not use the tip above, drag your mouse to make a rectangle around what you want to keep
4.    Press CTRL X to cut that portion out to your clipboard (CTRL X = cut)
5.    Choose FILE, NEW (no you don’t save the old stuff)
6.    Press CTRL V to paste what’s on your clipboard to the canvas
7.    Save as a .gif (unless it distorts, then repeat step 6)

• Install WordPress – have working knowledge of installations both through the hosting account (using one-click installer like Fantastico) and via FTP (for those hosts that do not offer one-click installs)
• Customize WP settings using our detailed step-by-step guide (if you can read, you can follow these directions)

• Upload themes and plugins via FTP

Why do you need them? Google and other search engines look at backlinks like

votes.  The more links out there in the universe, the more likely that your site is a legitimate one because real people (webmasters back in the day) would have to place your link on their sites and therefore give your site a seal of approval. Of course this opened up the door for backlink software that would build backlinks for you and people started to even buy backlinks.  Not smart.

1. Choose File, Page Setup, and then click on the Sheet tab

2. Click in the ‘Rows to repeat at topbox and click and drag the cursor through the rows that contain your headings. (Note: You can click OK at this point, or you can choose the Print Preview button to see if everything looks OK)
