In this article, I’m going to show you How To Setup A Home Studio For Video or Live streaming or even just taking pictures (AKA selfies).
One of the most important items you can purchase is the RIGHT ring light.
I wanted one that has:
- A dimmer to control the light strength
- Color Temperature: 5600 Kelvin
- Orange and white filters
- A stand
- A power cable or additional battery option
- A wide enough circle to place your cell phone and webcams inside the inner circle
- A carrying case to bring to events and travel with for protection
So I chose this one with a VERY reasonable price. I like being frugal as much as possible because a dollar saved is a dollar earned!
The webcams I use are just like these:
The FREE software I use is called OBS: https://obsproject.com
I create multiple hotkeys to toggle between multiple views:
- Camera 1 (facing me)
- Camera 2 (overhead)
- Desktop view (to share my screen)
The microphone that I suggest is one that has a clip on shirt microphone AND the cheek microphone headset. It is also wireless so you can walk around and wear those cool Hollywood style packs on your back side under your clothes.
Ladies! I bought a few wigs to throw on when I want to make a video fast and don’t want to spend 2 hours drying and curling my hair! That’s so damaging and holds up progress!
Everything I mention will cost you under $200 to get going like a PRO! Make sure that you have a NICE background behind you.
No one wants to see your dirty laundry or clutter in the back of you. It’s distracting too and people won’t listen to what you are saying!
You can always opt to hang a black, white or solid color sheet behind you. Just make sure that it looks neat. You can iron it or bunch it like a theater curtain.
